Barbara's Rose Pin or Magnet Pattern

Materials:
Sml amt of crochet cotton, size 10 (any color, green)
Steel crochet hook (your preference)

Finishing Materials:
Craft glue or glue gun/glue
Pin backing or magnet

Finished Size: Depends on size hook used
Gauge: Not important to over all size

Skill Level: Easy

Inside Petal:

Row 1) Ch 2, sl st in 2nd ch from hook; (ch 3, 3 dc) in same ch: 4 dc.

Row 2) Ch 3, turn work; dc in first st; * (2 dc) in next dc; rep from * across: 8 dc.

Row 3) Ch 3, turn work; dc in next 7 dc: 8 dc. Fasten off; secure ends.

Outer Petals: (Make 3)

Row 1) Ch 2; sl st in 2nd ch from hook; (ch 3, 3 dc) in same ch: 4 dc.

Row 2) Ch 3, turn work; dc in first st; * (2 dc) in next dc; rep from * across: 8 dc.

Row 3) Ch 3, turn work; dc in first st, dc in next dc; * (2 dc) in next dc, dc in next dc; rep from * across: 12 dc.

Row 4) Ch 3, turn work; dc in next 11 dc: 12 dc.

Row 5) Ch 1, turn work; dc in next 10 dc, sl st in last dc: 10 dc. Fasten off; secure ends.

Stem: (Using green)

Row 1) Ch 15. Fasten off ; secure one end.

Leaf: (Using green)

Row 1) Ch 2, sl st in 2nd ch from hook; (ch 3, 3 dc) in same ch: 4 dc.

Row 2) Ch 3, turn work; dc in first st, dc in next dc, (2 dc) in next dc, dc in last dc: 6 dc.

Row 3) Ch 3, turn work; dc in next 5 dc: 6 dc.

Row 4) Ch 1, turn work; dc in next dc, (sk next dc, dc in next dc) twice: 3 dc. Fasten off; secure ends.

Finishing:

Roll up inside petal and glue at bottom to secure. Place first petal on one side of the rolled petal and secure at bottom with glue; repeat with next petal placing on opposite side of the rolled petal. Clip tail from other end of stem close and place that section under edge of last petal and secure with glue. Wrap last petal around bottom, covering the stem and glue in place. Pull petals out at top to "open" rose.

Glue leaf about halfway down the stem and add a pin back or magnet to the back of rose.
