Week 1:

Materials:
1 Skein (6 oz) worsted weight yarn, 4 ply (Denim Heather)
Crochet hook size H

Section A:
Row 1) Ch 48; dc in 5th ch from hook and in next 26 ch, ch 1, sk next ch, dc in next 16 ch: 44 dc/1 ch 1-sp.

Row 2) Ch 3 (counts as first dc), turn work; dc in next 15 dc, ch 1, dc in next 28 dc: 44 dc/1 ch 1-sp.

Row 3) Ch 3, turn work; dc in next 27 dc, ch 1, dc in next 16 dc: 44 dc/1 ch 1-sp.

Rows 4-9) Rep rows 2 & 3.

Row 10) (Working in back lps only); ch 3, turn work; dc in next 15 dc, ch 1, dc in next 28 dc: 44 dc/1 ch 1-sp.

Rnd 11) Working in rnds: ch 3, turn work; (working in front lps only); dc in next 27 dc, ch 1, dc in next 15 dc, dc in both lps of last dc, (working in back lps of same rnd), sk st where last dc was worked, dc in next 15 dc, ch 1, dc in next 27 dc (forming a pocket); join with a sl st to first dc: 86 dc.

Rnds 12-15) Ch 3; * dc in next 27 dc, ch 1, dc in next 31 dc, ch 1, dc in next 27 dc; join with a sl st to first dc: 86 dc. Pull up a lp and drop after last rnd.

Place in plastic bag for next week.


Week 2:

Row 16) Working in rows again: ch 3, turn work; dc in next 27 dc, ch 1, dc in next 16 dc: 44 dc/1 ch 1-sp.

Rows 17-18) Rep rows 2 & 3. Fasten off; secure ends after last row.

Row 1) Working on the wide section before ch 1 sp, join yarn to first dc (ch) on foundation row with a sl st; ch 3, dc in next 27 ch (across from dc), dc in next ch 1 sp, dc in next 16 ch (across from dc): 45 dc.

Rows 2-6) Ch 3, turn work; * dc in next dc; rep from * across: 45 dc.

Row 7) Ch 3, turn work; dc in next 14 dc, ch 1, sk next dc, dc in next 3 dc, (ch 1, sk next dc, dc in next 12 dc) twice: 42 dc/ 3 ch 1-sps. Pull up a lp on last row and drop.

Place in plastic bag for next week.


Week 3:

Pick up dropped lp from row 7.

Row 8) Ch 3, turn work; dc in next 11 dc, ch 1, dc in next 12 dc, ch 1, dc in next 3 dc, ch 1, dc in next 15 dc: 42 dc/3 ch 1-sps.

Row 9) Ch 3, turn work; dc in next 14 dc, ch 1, dc in next 3 dc, (ch 1, dc in next 12 dc) twice: 42 dc/3 ch-1sps.

Rows 10-17) Rep rows 8 & 9.

Row 18) (Working in front lps only); ch 3, turn work; dc in next 11 dc, ch 1, dc in next 12 dc, ch 1, dc in next 3 dc, ch 1, dc in next 15 dc: 42 dc/3 ch 1-sps.

Row 19) (Working in both lps); ch 3, turn work; dc in next 14 dc, ch 1, dc in next 3 dc, (ch 1, dc in next 12 dc) twice: 42 dc/3 ch 1-sps.

Rows 20-28) Rep rows 8 & 9, ending with row 8. Pull up a lp on last row and drop.

Place in plastic bag for next week.


Week 3:

Edging & Joining: (Don't be scared by the looooooooong set of instructions. : ) You're basically folding up both ends of the caddy and single crocheting around the edges.

Rnd 1) The last row represents the wrong side of work, fold last 11 rows up so the wrong side is to the inside, folding along row 18 where dc is worked in front lps, matching last row, row 28 to row 7 where ch 1 sps began; pick up dropped lp, sl st over dc post on row 6; ch 1, (2 sc) over same dc post on end, (2 sc over next dc post on end) 5 times, fold opposite side of caddy up so that pockets are to the right side, at row 10, where dc are worked in back lps, and matching last row, row 18 to row 1 where ch 1 sps began, working through both sides to join, (2 sc) over next dc post through both sides, (2 sc over next dc post through both sides) twice, continuing to work over the dc posts on end and through the "pocket" created through rnds 11-15, [sk next 27 dc from ch 1 sp on pocket, (2 sc) over next dc post on pocket and next dc post on back] 6 times, (working along the bottom of caddy in free lps), sc in next 27 sts, sc over next ch 1 sp, sc in next 16 sts, (working up opposite side of caddy over end dc post on pocket and back cover), [sk next 15 dc from ch 1 sp on pocket, (2 sc) over next dc post on pocket and next dc post on back cover] 6 times, (2 sc over next dc post through both sides) 3 times (working last sc in top of dc on pocket front to secure), (2 sc over next dc post) 6 times, (with opposite pocket folded up), (2 sc over next dc post through both sides) 11 times, (working along bottom of caddy in free lps), (sc in next 12 sts, sc over next ch 1 sp) twice, sc in next 3 sts, sc over next ch 1 sp, sc in next 15 sts, (working back up opposite side through both front and back), (2 sc over next dc post through both sides) 11 times; join with a sl st in first sc. Fasten off; secure ends.

Forming individual pockets:

Join yarn to bottom row of any ch 1 sp through all thicknesses with a sl st (aligning sps); ch 25, pull up a lp and clip. Weave chain through the spaces. Pick up dropped lp and sl st to next st on back of pocket to secure. Fasten off; secure ends.

Continue to make chains to weave through 1 spaces until all individual pockets have been formed.

Finishing:

The pockets can hold up to 2 remotes, cordless phone, tv guide, notepad, pen or pencil, caculator, and reading glasses.
