Materials:
Small amount of worsted weight yarn (Rose or Pink, White)
Crochet hook size H (8-5.00 mm)

Finished Size: 4" T x 5" W
Gauge: Not important to overall size

Skill Level: Medium

Special Stitches:
Dc Dec: (yo, insert hook in next st, pull up a lp, yo, draw through 2 lps on hook) as many times as stated, yo, draw through all lps on hook to complete the st.

Heart: (Make 2) (Using pink or rose)

Ch 24; join with a sl st in first ch to form a lp being careful not to twist ch.

Rnd 1) (Ch 3, dc, trc, 2 dc) in joining, dc in next 5 ch, (3 dc in next ch) 4 times, dc in next ch, dc dec over next 3 chs see special sts, dc in next ch, (3 dc in next ch) 4 times (mark center dc of last 3 dc grouping with a marker for later st placement for top heart only), dc in last 5 ch; join with a sl st to first dc (3rd ch of beg ch 3): 42 sts. Fasten off; secure ends.

Heart Edging & Joining: (Using white)

Rnd 1) Holding both heart front and back together, right sides facing out and turned upside down (heart bottom point at top); join yarn to marked st and through bottom heart through corresponding center dc of last 3 dc group with a sl st; ch 1, (sc, ch 3, sc) in joining through both sides, [sk next st, (sc, ch 3, sc) in next st through both sides] 4 times, [(sc, ch 3, sc) in next st through both sides] twice, [sk next st, (sc, ch 3, sc) in next st through both sides] 4 times, (working top piece only), [sk next st, (sc, ch 3, sc) in next st] 5 times, sk next st, sc in next st (center top of heart), [sk next st, (sc, ch 3, sc) in next st] 5 times, join with a sl st in first sc, ch 1 loosely, and turn work to expose the back of heart, sk next st on back piece from where edging was joined, (sc, ch 3, sc) in next st, [sk next st, (sc, ch 3, sc) in next st] 4 times, sk next st, sc in next st (center top of heart), [sk next st, (sc, ch 3, sc) in next st] 5 times; join with a sl st in next sc: 11 ch 3-lps through both sides/10 ch 3-lps on each front and back piece separately. Fasten off; secure ends.

Finishing:

Slip heart over corner top of page to be marked (it will be facing downward). Variations include sticking a heart shaped sucker into the center, letting the stick extend through bottom of heart. Or insert a photo and attach magnets on the back for a fridgie.
