4-ply WW yarn (Aran, maize, gold, carrot, claret, & black)
Crochet hook size I

Finished Size: 7" Sq.

Special Stitches:
Fpdc: yo, insert hook from the front of indicated dc post to the back, around the post and back to the front, draw up a lp, (yo, draw through 2 lps on hook) twice to complete st.

Instructions:

Form a lp and start

Rnd 1) With Aran, form a lp with thread; ch 3 (counts as first dc), (2 dc, ch 1) in lp, (3 dc, ch 1 in lp) 3 times; draw up thread to form a tight circle; join with a sl st to first dc (3rd ch of beg ch 3): 12 dc/4 ch 1-sps. Fasten off color. See how to make an adjustable or magic ring to begin.

Rnd 2) Join maize to first dc of any group with a sl st; ch 3, dc in next 2 dc, (3 dc, ch 9, 3 dc) in next ch 1 sp; * dc in next 3 dc, (3 dc, ch 9, 3 dc) in next ch 1 sp; rep from * around; join with a sl st to first dc: 36 dc/4 ch 9-sps. Fasten off color.

Rnd 3) Join gold to first dc post of any group with a sl st; ch 3 (counts as first fpdc), (dc in next dc, fpdc over next dc post) 4 times see special sts, ch 9; * fpdc over next dc post, (dc in next dc, fpdc over next dc post) 4 times, ch 9; rep from * around; join with a sl st to first post st (3rd ch of beg ch 3): 20 fpdc/16 dc/4 ch 9-sps. Fasten off color.

Rnd 4) Join carrot to first post st of any group with a sl st; ch 3, (fpdc over next dc post, dc in next st) 4 times, pull the ch 9 created from row 3 (gold) up through the ch 9 created in row 2 (maize), (5 sc) over ch 9 sp (gold - row 3); * dc in next dc, (fpdc over next dc post, dc in next st) 4 times, pull the ch 9 created from row 3 (gold) up through the ch 9 created in row 2 (maize), (5 sc) over ch 9 sp (gold - row 3); rep from * around; join with a sl st to first dc: 16 fpdc/20 dc/20 sc. Fasten off color.

Rnd 5) Join claret to first dc post of any group with a sl st; ch 3 (counts as first fpdc), (dc in next st, fpdc over next dc post) 4 times, dc in next 2 sc, (3 dc, ch 1, 3 dc) in next sc, dc in next 2 sc; * fpdc over next dc post, (dc in next dc, fpdc over next dc post) 4 times, dc in next 2 sc, (3 dc, ch 1, 3 dc) in next sc, dc in next 2 sc; rep from * around; join with a sl st to first dc: 56 dc/20 fpdc/4 ch 1-sps. Fasten off color.

Rnd 6) Join black to first dc after any ch 1 sp on last rnd with a sl st; ch 1, sc in joining, sc in next 18 sts, (2 sc, ch 1, 2 sc) in next ch 1 sp; * sc in next 19 sts, (2 sc, ch 1, 2 sc) in next ch 1 sp; rep from * around; join with a sl st in first sc: 92 sc/4 ch 1-sps. Fasten off; secure ends.
