Sm amt 4-ply WW yarn (pink, white)
Crochet hook size J

Finished Size: 6 1/2" W (at widest point) x 6" T
Gauge: Not important to over all size

Skill Level: Easy

Special Stitches:
Dc dec: (Yo, insert hook in indicated st, pull up a lp, yo, draw through 2 lps on hook) as many times as stated, yo, draw through all lps on hook to complete the st.

Esc: Insert hook in indicated st, pull up a lp, yo, draw through 1 lp, yo, pull through both lps on hook to complete the st.

Coaster: (Using pink)

Rnd 1) Ch 16; (4 dc) in 4th ch from hook (first 3 chs skipped count as first dc), (dc in next 5 ch, (5 dc) in next ch) twice, working in beg ch on opposite side, dc in next 3 ch, dc dec over next 5 ch see special sts, dc in last 3 ch; join with a sl st to first dc: 32 sts.

Rnd 2) (Ch 3, dc) in joining, (2 dc in next dc) 4 times, dc in next 7 dc, (5 dc) in next dc (mark center - 3rd dc, with a marker for later st placement), dc in next 7 dc, (2 dc in next dc) 5 times, dc in next 2 dc, dc dec over next 3 sts, dc in next 2 dc; join with a sl st to first dc (3rd ch of beg ch 3): 44 sts. Fasten off; secure ends.

Coaster Edging: (Using white)

Rnd 1) Join yarn to marked st (center dc at bottom tip of heart) with a sl st; ch 1, (esc, ch 3, esc) in joining see special sts, sk next st, [(esc, ch 3, esc) in next st, sk next st] 10 times, sc in next st (center top of heart), sk next st, [(esc, ch 3, esc) in next st, sk next st] 10 times; join with a sl st in first st: 21 ch 3-sps. Fasten off; secure ends.

Finishing:

Spray coaster with water and shape to dry, if needed.

Options:

Work up the heart in thread for a fridgie or pin.
