Hearts: (Make 2)

Row 1) Ch 2, (sc, 2 dc) in 2nd ch from hook: 3 sts or 1 scallop.

Row 2) Ch 1, turn work; (sc, 2 dc) in first st, sk next dc, (sc, 2 dc) in next sc: 2 scallops.

Row 3) Ch 1, turn work; (sc, 2 dc) in first st, [(sc, 2 dc) in next sc] twice, skipping dc bet: 3 scallops.

Row 4) Ch 1, turn work; (sc, 2 dc) in first st, [(sc, 2 dc) in next sc] 3 times, skipping dc bet: 4 scallops.

Row 5) Ch 1, turn work; (sc, 2 dc) in first st, [(sc, 2 dc) in next sc] 4 times, skipping dc bet: 5 scallops.

Row 6) Ch 1, turn work; (sc, 2 dc) in first st, [(sc, 2 dc) in next sc] 5 times, skipping dc bet: 6 scallops.

Row 7) Ch 1, turn work (mark ch 1 sp with a marker); [(sc, 2 dc) in next sc] 5 times, skipping dc bet, sc in last sc: 5 scallops.

Row 8) Ch 1, turn work; (9 trc) in next sc, sk next 4 sts, sl st in next st (center st of center scallop), sk next 3 sts, (9 trc) in next sc, sl st in last sc: 18 trc. Fasten off; secure ends on first piece. (Do not fasten off on second piece).

Joining & Edging:

Rnd 1) Holding both front and back together, right sides facing out, ch 1, (sc, 3 dc) in joining and through marked sc on back piece, working down side of heart, (sc, 3 dc) over next dc post on end through both pieces, working in top piece only, [(sc, 3 dc) over next dc post on end] twice, (sc, 3 dc) in bottom tip of heart, (working back up opposite side), [(sc, 3 dc) over next dc post on end] twice, working in through both front and back in corresponding st to join, (sc, 3 dc) over next dc post on end, (sc, 3 dc) in next ch 1 sp, (working over top), [sk next trc, (sc, 3 dc) in next trc] 4 times, sk next trc, holding metal ring between the hearts at the top, (sc, ch 10 sc) in next sc and around the ring (hanger formed), [sk next trc, (sc, 3 dc) in next trc] 4 times; join with a sl st in first sc: 17 scallops. Fasten off; secure ends.
