Holder: (Make 2)

Row 1) Starting at bottom: ch 4; dc, (ch 2, 2 dc) 3 times in 4th ch from hook (first 3 chs skipped count as first dc): 8 dc/3 ch-2 sps.

Row 2) Ch 5, turn work; shell in first ch 2 sp see special sts, ch 1, (dc, ch 5, dc) in next ch 2 sp, ch 1, shell in last ch 2 sp, trc in first dc on last row (first turning ch): 2 shells/1 ch 5-sp/2 turning chs.

Row 3) Ch 5, turn work; shell in next shell sp, ch 2, dc in next ch 5 sp, (ch 1, dc) 8 times in same ch 5 sp, ch 2, shell in last shell sp, trc in last turning ch: 2 shells/9 dc.

Row 4) Ch 5, turn work; shell in next shell sp, (ch 3, sc in next ch 1 sp) 8 times, ch 3, shell in last shell sp, trc in last turning ch: 2 shells/1 pineapple with 7 ch 3-lps.

Row 5) Ch 5, turn work; shell in next shell sp, sk next ch 3 sp, (ch 3, sc in next ch 3 lp) 7 times, ch 3, shell in last shell sp, trc in last turning ch: 2 shells/1 pineapple with 6 ch 3-lps.

Row 6) Ch 5, turn work; shell in next shell sp, sk next ch 3 sp, (ch 3, sc in next ch 3 lp) 6 times, ch 3, shell in last shell sp, trc in last turning ch: 2 shells/1pineapple with 5 ch 3-lps.

Row 7) Ch 5, turn work; shell in next shell sp, sk next ch 3 sp, (ch 3, sc in next ch 3 lp) 5 times, ch 3, shell in last shell sp, trc in last turning ch: 2 shells/1 pineapple with 4 ch 3-lps.

Row 8) Ch 5, turn work; shell in next shell sp, sk next ch 3 sp, (ch 3, sc in next ch 3 lp) 4 times, ch 3, shell in last shell sp, trc in last turning ch: 2 shells/1 pineapple with 3 ch 3-lps.

Row 9) Ch 5, turn work (mark turning ch for later st placement); shell in next shell sp, sk next ch 3 sp, (ch 3, sc in next ch 3 lp) 3 times, ch 3, shell in last shell sp, trc in last turning ch (mark turning ch for later st placement): 2 shells/1 pineapple with 2 ch 3-lps.

Row 10) Ch 5, turn work; shell in next shell sp, sk next ch 3 sp, (ch 3, sc in next ch 3 lp) twice, ch 3, shell in last shell sp, trc in last turning ch: 2 shells/1 pineapple with 1 ch 3-lp.

Row 11) Ch 5, turn work; shell in next shell sp, sk next ch 3 sp, ch 3, sc in last ch 3 lp, ch 3, shell in last shell sp, trc in last turning ch: 2 shells/1 pineapple.

Row 12) Ch 5, turn work; (shell in next shell sp) twice, trc in last turning ch: 2 shells/1 complete pineapple.

Row 13) Ch 5, turn work; (2 dc in next shell sp) twice, trc in last turning ch: 4 dc.

Row 14) Ch 5, turn work; sl st in turning ch. Fasten off; secure ends.

Joining:

Rnd 1) With both front and back held together; join thread to marked turning ch (working toward the bottom or base of pineapple) with a sl st; ch 1, sc through both pieces; (7 dc in next turning ch through both pieces, sc in next turning ch through both pieces) 3 times, (7 dc) in next turning ch through both pieces, sc in beg ch at base of pineapple through both pieces, (7 dc in next turning ch through both pieces, sc in next turning ch through both pieces) 4 times (bottom and part of both sides joined), (working in top piece only), (7 dc in next turning ch, sc in next turning ch) twice, (9 dc) in next turning ch, (sc in next turning ch, 7 dc in next turning ch) twice; join with a sl st in first sc, turning holder over to work in the back piece only, (7 dc in next turning ch, sc in next turning ch) twice, (9 dc) in next turning ch, (sc in next turning ch, 7 dc in next turning ch) twice; join with a sl st next sc. Fasten off; secure ends.

Finishing:

Insert soap. Cut ribbon in half. Tie one half to the bottom portion of pineapple and tie into a bow as shown in photo. Trim ends. With remaining ribbon, tie the top portion of both pieces together at top, after inserting soap. Tie into a bow as shown. Trim ends.
