Row 1) Ch 4; (2 dc, ch 7, 3 dc) in 4th ch from hook (first 3 chs skipped count as first dc): 6 dc/1 ch-7 sp.

Row 2) Ch 3, turn work; (3 dc) in next st, ch 2, (8 dc) in ch 7 sp, ch 2, sk next dc, (3 dc) next dc: 14 dc/2 ch 2-sps.

Row 3) Ch 3, turn work; (3 dc) in next st, ch 3, sk next dc, sc in next dc, (ch 3, sc in next dc) 7 times, ch 3, sk next dc, (3 dc) in next dc: 6 dc/7 ch 3-lps.

Finishing:

Shape bookmark by spraying with water or spray starch, if desired, and press on the wrong side with a cool iron setting. Or stretch on a terry towel to shape and let dry. Weave ribbon through center of bookmark as shown in photo.
