Materials:
Small amt. 100% cotton thread, size 10 (Red or Blue)
Steel crochet hook, size 8 USA (1.50 mm)

Finishing Materials:
Pair of stud type earrings

Finished Size: 1" in dia.
Gauge: Not important to over all size

Skill Level: Advanced Beginner

Earrings:

Ch 4; join with a sl st in first ch to form a ring.

Rnd 1) Ch 1; (5 sc) in ring; join with a sl st in first sc: 5 sc.

Rnd 2) Ch 1, (2 sc) in joining; * (2 sc) in next sc; rep from * around; join with a sl st in first sc: 10 sc.

Row 3) Finishing each point separately: ch 1, sc in joining, sc in next sc: 2 sc.

Row 4) Ch 1, turn work; (back facing), sc in first st, hdc in next sc: 2 sts.

Row 5)Ch 3, turn work; (front facing), sl st in same sc on rnd 2. (Do not end off).

Completing Each Point:

Row 3) Sl st in next sc; ch 1, sc in same st, sc in next sc: 2 sc.

Rows 4-5) Rep rows 4 - 5 for first point.

Continue until all 5 points have been worked off, sl st into first st. Fasten off, secure ends.

Finishing:

Remove back from studs, insert earring through the center of the star, replace the back.
