Bodice: (Using white)
Rnd 1) Starting at neckline: ch 28; sc in 2nd ch from hook and in ea ch across; join with a sl st to beg. ch 1: 27 sc.
Rnd 2) Ch 3, dc in same st *2 dc in next sc* around; join with a sl st to beg. ch 3: 27 groups 2 dc.
Rnd 3) You will be working in the back loops on this round only. Ch 3 *dc in back loop of next dc* around; join with a sl st to beg. ch 3: 54 dc
Bodice Trim: (Using green)
Rnd 4) TIP: fold your work in half to determine middle. With green join in center dc with a sl st; ch 3, dc, ch 2, 2 dc in same st, ch 1 *skip next 2 dc; 2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc in next st, ch 1* around. Join with a sl st to beg. ch 3: 14 grps. of shells.
Skirt: (Using white)
Rnd 5) Eight of the shells just made will become sleeves and are finished. With white join in ch 1 of middle shell. Ch 3, dc, ch 2, 2 dc in same sp, ch 1, *2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc in next shell, ch 1* around (leaving four shells on each side of skirt unworked). Join with a sl st to beg. ch 3: 8 shells.
Rnd 6) Sl st to ch 2 of first shell; ch 3, dc, ch 2, 2 dc, ch 1 *2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc, ch 1 in next shell* 6 more times; join with a sl st to beg. ch 3: 8 shells.
Rnd 7) Repeat Round 6
Rnd 8) Sl st to ch 1 of first shell; ch 3, 5 dc in same sp, *ch 2, 6 dc in ea of the next 7 shells; join with a sl st to beg. ch 3: 8 shells.
Skirt Edging: (Using green)
With green join in any dc of prior round, sc in ea dc and sc across.
Tab for hanging: (Using white)
Ch 16, dc in 3rd ch from hook and in each ch across. Join tab with several sl sts to back of bodice.
Finishing:
Secure all ends. Thread tapestry needle with a double length of red yarn and weave through round 3, tie with bow and knot at each end. With regular needle and thread sew button in place using picture as guide.
Fold your towel in thirds and place dress on top of raw edge of kitchen towel. Use an overcast or running stitch to secure in place.
