Materials:

2-1/2 oz. Sugar 'n Cream 100% worsted weight cotton yarn (Jute # 082)

1 oz. Sugar 'n Cream 100% worsted weight cotton yarn (Country Side # 235)

1 (l" dia) cabone ring

Crochet hook size H (or size to obtain gauge)

Finished Size: 7" in dia
Gauge: 2 rows = 1 - 1 1/2"

Special Stitches:

Beg. Shell: (ch 3, dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in indicated st.

Shell: (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in indicated st.

Potholder: (make two)

Rnd 1) With color Jute, Ch 8; sl st to form a ring.

Rnd 2) Ch 3, *hdc, ch 1* rep between * around. Join with sl st to beg ch 3: 12 hdc & ch-1 groups.

Rnd 3) Ch 3, dc in same sp, ch 2. *2 dc, ch 2 in next sp* and rep between * around. Join with sl st to beg ch 3: 12 dc & ch-2 sps.

Rnd 4) Ch 3, dc, ch 2, 2 dc in same sp; (beg. shell made). *2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc* (shell made). Rep between * around. Join with sl st to beg ch 3: 12 shells.

Rnd 5) Ch 3, dc, ch 2, 2 dc in same sp; (beg. shell made). *Ch 1, 2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc, ch 1* in next sp (shell made). Rep between * around. Join with sl st to beg ch 3: 12 shells. Fasten off.

Rnd 6) With color Country Side, join in any ch-2 sp of previous rnd. Ch 3, 6 dc in same sp, sc in sp between shells; *7 dc in next ch-2 sp, sc in next sp between shells* and rep around. Join with sl st to beg ch 3. Fasten off.

Finishing:

Make another piece in same manner and tuck in all ends. With wrong sides together and right sides facing you, join with color Jute into any st of previous round and sc in each st. On your last sc, join yarn to cabone ring with sl st, ch 1, (25 sc) around ring; sc in last st of potholder. Fasten off and tuck in ends.
