Instructions:
Ch 40; join with a slip st in first chain to form a ring, being careful not to twist ring.

Rnd 1) Ch 1, sc in joining, sc in next ch, ch 3, skip next 3 ch, (dc, ch 2, dc) in next ch, ch 3, skip next 3 ch, sc in next 3 ch; * ch 3, skip next 3 ch, (dc, ch 2, dc) in next ch, ch 3, skip next 3 ch, sc in next 3 ch; repeat from * around; sc in last ch; join with a slip st in first sc.

Rnd 2) Slip st in next sc; Ch 1, sc in joining, ch 4, skip last sc and next space, 5 dc in next ch 2 space, ch 4, skip next space and sc, sc in next sc (center sc); * ch 4, skip last sc and next space, 5 dc in next ch 2 space, ch 4, skip next space and sc, sc in next sc (center sc); repeat from * around; join with a slip st in first sc.

Rnd 3) Slip st to first dc; Ch 1, sc in joining, sc in next 4 dc, ch 7; * sc in next 5 dc, ch 7; repeat from * around; join with a slip st in first sc.

Rnd 4) Slip st in next sc; Ch 1, sc in joining, sc in next 2 sc, ch 3, skip last sc, (dc, ch 2, dc) in 4th ch of next ch 7, ch 3, skip next sc; * sc in next 3 sc, ch 3, skip last sc, (dc, ch 2, dc) in 4th chain of next ch 7, ch 3, skip next sc; repeat from * around; join with a slip st in first sc.

Rnds 5-11) Repeat instructions for Rnds 2 - 4 respectively ending with Rnd 2. Fasten off, secure ends after Rnd 11.

Finishing:
Spray water or spray starch, if used over napkin ring, cover with a handkerchief and press using a cool iron setting.
