Skill Level: Medium

Sc Dec: (insert hook in next st, draw up a lp) twice, yo, draw through last 3 lps on hook to complete the dec.

Pilgrim Girl: (Using pink or flesh)

Rnd 1) Starting with head: ch 4; (11 dc) in 4th ch from hook (first 3 chs skipped count as first dc); join with a sl st to 4th ch of beg ch 4, sl st in back lp of next dc, picking up new color, white or cream: 12 dc. Drop old color.

Hat: (Using white or cream)

Row 1) Ch 3 (counts as first dc), dc in joining, (2 hdc) in back lp of next dc, (2 sc) in next dc, (3 hdc) in back lp of next dc, (2 sc) in next dc, (2 hdc) in back lp of next dc, dc in next dc, ch 2, sl st in same st: 15 sts. Fasten off, secure ends.

Bodice & Sleeves: (Using grey)

Row 1) (Working in back lps only); sk next dc from where last st was worked for hat and join yarn to next dc with a sl st; ch 1, (3 sc) in joining, (3 sc) in next dc: 6 sc.

Row 2) Ch 1, turn work; (working in both lps); (2 sc) in first st, sc in next 4 sc, (2 sc) in last sc: 8 sc.

Row 3) Ch 1, turn work; (2 sc) in first st, sc in next 6 sc, (2 sc) in last sc: 10 sc. (Do not fasten off).

Sleeve:

Rows 1-3) Ch 2, turn work (counts as first hdc); hdc in first st, hdc in next sc: 3 hdc

Row 4) Ch 1, turn work; sc in first st, sc in next 2 hdc: 3 sc. Fasten off, secure ends.

Opposite Sleeve: (Using grey)

Row 1) Wrong side facing, join yarn in next to last sc on row 3 of bodice with a sl st; ch 2, (2 hdc) in next sc: 3 hdc.

Rows 2-4) Rep rows 2 - 4 for sleeve.

Rest of Bodice: (Using grey)

Row 4) Right side facing, sk next sc from where sleeve is worked, join yarn to next sc with a sl st; ch 1, sc in joining, sc in next 3 sc: 4 sc.

Row 5) Ch 1, turn work; sc in first st, sc in next 3 sc: 4 sc.

Row 6) Ch 1, turn work; (working in back lps only); sc in first st, sc in next 3 sc: 4 sc. (Do not fasten off).

Skirt: (Using grey)

Row 6) Ch 3, turn work; (working in both lps); (3 dc) first st, dc in next 2 sc, (4 dc) in last sc: 10 dc.

Row 7) Ch 3, turn work; dc in first st, dc in next 8 dc, (2 dc) in last dc: 12 dc.

Rows 8-9) Ch 3, turn work; dc in next 11 dc: 12 dc.

Row 10) Ch 1, turn work; sc in first st; * ch 2, sc in next dc; rep from * across. Fasten off, secure ends.

Collar: (Using white or cream)

Row 1) Right side facing, turned upside down, working in free lps on row 1 of head, opposite row 1 of bodice, join yarn to first unworked front lp with a sl st; (ch 3, hdc, ch 2, sl st) in joining, sl st in next dc, (ch 2, hdc, dc in same st). Fasten off, secure ends tacking collar to dress.

Apron: (Using white or cream)

Row 1) Right side facing, working in free lps on row 5 of bodice, join yarn to first unworked front lp with a sl st; (ch 3, 2 dc) in joining, dc in next 2 dc, (3 dc) in last dc: 8 dc.

Row 2) Ch 3, turn work; dc in first st, dc in next 6 dc, (2 dc) in last dc: 10 dc.

Row 3) Ch 1, turn work; sc in first st; * ch 3, sc in next st; rep from * across. Fasten off, secure ends.

Hair: (Using black)

Thread tapestry needle with a 12" length of black yarn. Using front unworked loops on head as a guide, bring needle up from back of head in first unworked front loop on side of head, (Point A), leaving a tail on back side for securing later. Sk next dc on head and insert needle in next dc, or unworked front loop, (center top of head) (Point B), bring needle up again at Point A, and back down through Point B, skipping next dc on head in opposite direction, bring needle up in next dc, or opposite unworked front loop, (Point C), then back down through Point B, up again at Point C and back down through Point B. Secure ends.

Finishing:

Glue eyes to face as desired and magnets to back.


Pilgrim Boy

Pilgrim Boy: (Using pink for flesh)

Rnd 1) Starting with head: ch 4; (11 dc) in 4th ch from hook (first 3 chs skipped count as first dc); join with a sl st to 4th ch of beg ch 4: 12 dc. Fasten off, secure ends.

Hat: (Using grey)

Row 1) Ch 4; sc in 2nd ch from hook and in next 2 ch: 3 sc.

Rows 2-3) Ch 1,turn work; sc in first st, sc in next 2 sc, dropping old color to the back and picking up new color (white or cream) on last row: 3 sc.

Row 4) (Using white or cream); ch 1, turn work; (2 sc) in first st, sc in next sc, (2 sc) in last sc, dropping old color to back and picking up new color (grey): 5 sc.

Row 5) (Using grey); ch 3, turn work; hdc in first st, (2 sc) in next sc, sc in next sc, (2 sc) in next sc, (hdc, dc) in last sc. Fasten off, leaving a 6" tail. Secure rest of ends.

Shirt & Sleeves: (Using grey)

Row 1) (Working in back lps only); join yarn to any dc on head with a sl st; ch 1, (3 sc) in joining, (3 sc) in next dc: 6 sc.

Row 2) Ch 1, turn work (working in both lps); (2 sc) in first st, sc in next 4 sc, (2 sc) in last sc: 8 sc.

Row 3) Ch 1, turn work; (2 sc) in first st, sc in next 6 sc, (2 sc) in last sc: 10 sc. (Do not fasten off).

Sleeve:

Rows 1-4) Ch 1, turn work; sc in first st, sc in next sc, dropping old color to back and picking up new color (white or cream) on last rnd: 2 sc.

Row 1) Wrong side facing, turned upside down, working in free unworked front lps on row 8 of shirt, join thread to first unworked sc with a sl st; ch 3, dc in next 5 sc: 6 dc.

Row 2) Ch 3, turn work; dc in next 5 dc: 6 dc.

Row 3) Ch 3, turn work; dc in next 2 dc, (finishing one side of pant leg): 3 dc.

Rows 4-6) Ch 3, turn work; dc in next 2 dc, dropping old color to back and picking up new color (black) on last row: 3 dc.

Rows 7-9) Ch 1, turn work; sc in first st, sc in next 2 sts: 3 sc.

Row 10) Ch 1, turn work; sl st in next sc; ch 1, sc in same st, (sc, hdc, dc) in last sc. Fasten off, secure ends.

Opposite Pant Leg: (Using grey)

Row 3) Wrong side facing, join yarn to row 2 of pants in next dc from where last st is worked with a sl st; ch 3, dc in next 2 dc: 3 dc.

Rows 4-10) Rep rows 4-10 for first pant leg.

Collar: (Using white or cream)

Row 1) Right side facing, turned upside down, join yarn to free unworked front lps on head where row 1 of shirt is worked; ch 3, (2 dc) in joining: 3 dc.

Row 2) Ch 1, turn work; sk first dc, sc in next dc, (2 sc) in last dc: 3 sc. Fasten off, secure ends.

Opposite Side of Collar: (Using white or cream)

Row 1) Right side facing, turned upside down, join yarn to free unworked front lps on head next to last st worked for collar with a sl st; ch 3, (2 dc) in joining: 3 dc.

Row 2) Ch 1, turn work; (2 sc) in first st, sc dec over next 2 dc see special sts: 3 sc. Fasten off, secure ends.

Finishing:

Sew hat to top of head using the 6" tail and tapestry needle. Fasten off, secure ends. Glue eyes to face and magnets to back.
