Worsted weight yarn (Jewel Tones or preference) (CC)
Worsted weight yarn (White or preference) (MC)
Crochet hook, size F
Finished Size: 6” square
Gauge: 2 rows = 1"
Changing colors: On last stitch worked in round, insert hook in joining, drop old color behind, pull up new color; continue with pattern instructions. Clip ends, leaving a tail long enough for weaving in.
Instructions:
Rnd 1) (Using CC); Ch 4; 2 dc in 4th chain from hook, ch 12, slip st in 11th ch from hook (corner stitch made), ch 1; * 3 dc in first ch made, corner stitch, ch 1; repeat from * twice; join with a slip st to 4th ch of beg ch 3, dropping old color behind and picking up new color: 12 dc/4 corner stitches. Fasten off old color
Rnd 2) (Using MC); Ch 4 (counts as first dc plus ch 1, now and throughout), skip next dc, dc in next dc, 2 dc in next ch 1 space of corner stitch, corner stitch, ch 1; * 2 dc in next ch 1 space of same corner stitch, dc in next dc, ch 1, skip next dc, dc in next dc, 2 dc in next ch 1 space of next corner stitch, corner stitch, ch 1; repeat from * around, 2 dc in next ch 1 space of same corner stitch; join with a slip st to first dc, dropping old color behind and picking up new color: 24 dc. Fasten off old color.
Rnd 3) (Using CC); Ch 4, dc in next 3 dc, 2 dc in next ch 1 space of corner stitch, corner stitch, ch 1; * 2 dc in next ch 1 space of same corner stitch, dc in next 3 dc, ch 1, dc in next 3 dc, 2 dc in next ch 1 space of next corner stitch, corner stitch, ch 1; repeat from * around; 2 dc in next ch 1 space of same corner stitch, dc in next 2 dc; join with a slip st to first dc, dropping old color behind and picking up new color: 40 dc. Fasten off old color.

Rnd 5) (Using MC); Ch 3, dc in next space, dc in next 7 dc, 2 dc in next ch 1 space of corner stitch, (pull each ch 12 corner stitch through the next ch 12 corner stitch, following procedure described below); * 3 sc in ch 12 space from Rnd 4, 2 dc in next ch 1 space of same corner stitch, dc in next 7 dc, dc in next space, dc in next 7 dc, 2 dc in next ch 1 space of next corner stitch; repeat from * around; 3 sc in ch 12 space from Rnd 4, 2 dc in next ch 1 space of same corner stitch, dc in last 6 dc; join with a slip st to first dc.
