Opposite Sleeve:

Row 1) With crinoline RS facing, join thread to first unworked dc next to bodice on row 1 of crinoline (shoulders) with a sl st; ch 4, (counts as first dc plus ch 1), (dc, ch 1, dc) in last dc: 3 dc/2 ch 1-sps.

Row 3) Ch 3, turn work (counts as first dc); dc in next 2 dc skipping ch 1 sps: 3 dc.

Row 4) Ch 3, turn work; dc in next dc leaving last dc unworked: 2 dc.

Row 5) Ch 3, turn work; dc in next dc: 2 dc. Fasten off; secure ends.

Hat:

Rnd 1) Ch 4; (9 dc) in 4th ch from hook (first 3 chs skipped count as first dc); join with a sl st to first dc (4th ch of beg ch 4): 10 dc.

Rnd 2) Ch 3, dc in joining, ch 1; * (2 dc) in next dc, ch 1; rep from *around; join with a sl st to first dc: 20 dc/10 ch 1-sps.

Rnd 3) Sl st in next dc and ch 1 sp; ch 1, sc in same sp, ch 3; * sc in next ch 1 sp, ch 3; rep from * around; join with a sl st in first sc: 10 sc/10 ch 3-sps. Fasten off; secure ends.

Finishing Materials:

  • Glue/glue gun
  • 1/2-yd (1/8″ W) ribbon
  • Magnet
  • Finishing:

    Spray pieces with water or spray starch, if desired and shape on a terry towel to dry. Once dried, glue hat to top of shoulders using the photo as a guide. Clip ribbon in half. Tie each piece into a bow and glue one bow to hat and the other to waist using the photo for placement. Attach magnet to back. Enjoy!

    Row 2) Working rem bodice & skirt: Join thread to first unworked dc on shoulder (row 1) next to sleeve with a sl st; ch 3, dc in joining, dc in next 4 dc, (2 dc) in next dc: 8 dc.

    Row 3) Ch 2, turn work, dc dec over next 2 dc (counts as a dc dec over 3 sts) see special sts below, dc in next 2 dc, dc dec over last 3 dc: 4 dc.

    Row 4) Starting skirt: ch 3, turn work; (2 dc) in first st, dc in next 2 dc, (3 dc) in last dc: 8 dc.

    Row 5) Ch 3, turn work; dc in first st; * ch 1, (2 dc) in next dc; rep from * across: 16 dc/7 ch 1-sps.

    Row 6) Ch 3, turn work; dc in next dc; * ch 1, dc in next 2 dc; rep from * across: 16 dc/7 ch 1-sps.

    Row 7) Ch 3, turn work; dc in next dc; * ch 2, dc in next 2 dc; rep from * across: 16 dc/7 ch 2-sps.

    Row 8) Ch 3, turn work; dc in next dc; * ch 2, sc in next sp, ch 2, dc in next 2 dc; rep from * across: 16 dc/14 ch 2-sps. Fasten off; secure ends.

    The above row is row 8. When typing 8 with a ), it comes out a happy face!

    Special Stitches:
    Dc dec: (yo, insert hook in indicated st, pull up a lp, yo, draw through 2 lps on hook) as many times as stated, yo, draw through all lps on hook to complete the st.

    I have friends/customers ask for small versions of popular patterns - hence the reason why I came up with a mini-mini Crinoline.

    Materials:
    Sm amt 100% cotton thread, size 10 (color of choice)
    Steel crochet hook size 8 USA (1.50 mm)

    Skill Level: Easy
    Gauge: Not important to over all size

    Row 1) Beg at shoulders: ch 6, (4 dc) in 5th ch from hook (first 4 chs skipped count as first dc), (5 dc) in last ch: 10 dc.

    Row 2) Starting first sleeve: ch 4, turn work (counts as first dc plus ch 1), dc in first dc, ch 1, dc in next dc leaving rem dc unworked: 3 dc/2 ch 1-sps.

    Row 3) Ch 3, turn work (counts as first dc); dc in next 2 dc skipping ch 1 sps: 3 dc.

    Row 4) Ch 3, turn work; dc in next dc leaving last dc unworked: 2 dc.

    Row 5) Ch 3, turn work; dc in next dc: 2 dc. Fasten off; secure ends.
