It’s cozy inside…

Thursday, December 3rd, 2009

And a perfect day to bake or crochet - maybe both! This afternoon my plans are to pick up an older design and revamp it a bit and get it published in time for the December 15th deadline (newsletter). It’s a small little angel; one I originally started designing to publish with Kustom Krafts. Unfortunately they phazed out the crochet publications before I could get this little angel ready. A little tweaking and I should have her ready to go in no time.

Before I begin though I’ll be finishing up another design for Christmas. This design will be tucked into a box and sent off as a gift which is why I need to finish it NOW!

2010 goals are to cut back. For more than a year I’ve been putting out quite a few designs each month and to be honest; I’m tired! I’ve left no room for life or errors. When that happens I become stressed to the point I burn out quickly and easily. This means in 2010 I’ll be designing only 4 new patterns each month. And allowing more breathing room in my life, for family, friends, hobbies, and problems.

Until then, I best get busy! :-)

Customer Photos…

Tuesday, November 17th, 2009

As always, I enjoy showing off customer photos that are submitted. I’ve been a bit neglectful lately and hope I can remember everything that was sent in! Yikes!

Jewel writes: “Here are some pictures of my latest projects. I enjoyed making all the projects. another crinoline girl done and 8 more to go. LOL I wanted the placemats to display my Christmas candles. I hope to start decorating for Christmas soon.”

Jewel writes: “I am working on your poinsettia doily also. I am pleased with the way it is turning out. Thanks again for all the great patterns.

Sherrie writes: “A couple of years ago after hearing many times; ‘I wish I could crochet, but I have no one to teach me’ my husband bought me a book. I sat down each evening and practiced and the next Christmas it was afghans for everyone on my list. This year they all got doilies and table runners.”

Wow, the week seems to be going fast. Maybe it’s all the new shows starting this week. Not only is my DVR getting filled, but I had to watch some of the other shows on a different TV - live! Is that great or what? I know, I need a life!

On the other hand, nothing is nicer than being able to watch some great shows while CROCHETING! I’m getting ready to start on another design which will be for Christmas but it can easily be used throughout the year - if I get it designed that is. Yesterday met with failure, but hey, I know several ways NOT to make it now! It’s still morning and I have the rest of the day to devote to experimenting in the lab (family room) with my favorite size thread and all time favorite hook. Keep your fingers crossed today meets with success and an even better attitude.

I may be starting another crochet-a-long soon if I have enough time - that always seems to be a problem. Either a crochet-a-long or mystery - what does everyone prefer? I’ve had some complaints before with mystery patterns because a few turned out to be a project the person wasn’t interested in. But hey, isn’t that what mystery means - either you like it or don’t - maybe you can use it or won’t. Personally, I think it’s easy to find some use with whatever you make. Give it away if all else fails. :-)
