Here are the pictures of our newest patterns, soon to be available!

Our USA Sparkler Filet Runner is worked up depicting sparklers that are embellished with red and blue yarn bow ties. The scalloped-like edges remind me of a patriotic banner.

Our “Ant Farm” Picnic Casserole Cover is worked in a red checkered tablecloth style and features crocheted ants going up the side and on to the top of the cover.

Our Pinapple Daisy Doily is a quick and easy project. You won’t believe you’re crocheting pineapples if you never attempted them before. This pattern is rated beginner!

I can’t believe it’s been so long since I posted to my blog. As usual there is always so much going on and I never seem to have enough time for everything.

Last week I spent time with my dad helping him out by being his “gopher” while he’s down with a knee injury. It turns out he has a torn ligament behind his knee and might need surgery. In the interim he’ll be doing physical therapy and I pray this helps and he won’t need surgery.

I’ve been working with Annie’s Attic on a new booklet which I can’t disclose much else at this point. But when it’s available, I’ll be posting about it as I am very excited over it. :-)

In conjunction with the new booklet, I’ve been creating and assembling pattern packs that will be available soon through Annie’s Attic. I’ll post pictures of the covers tomorrow so you know what to look for in the next catalog and online.

Yesterday I started a new doily and while I was sitting watching some of my favorite cooking shows on the Food Network, Allie, my cocker spaniel, walked between me and the footstool where I had my ball of thread residing and managed to get tangled up in it. I think she pulled about 1-2 rnds out before I could stop her and get her feet untangled. At least she’s not fast like our cat used to be - and had my good sized doily down to the diameter of a silver dollar and strung down the hall, up the stairs and down the upstairs hall where we found the “remains” the next morning. I can laugh about it now!

If I could just embrace time rather than fight with it, I think I’ll have conquered some real “time” issues! I guess getting up later than I planned for a Monday is not a good start. I have however commited myself to spending time with Wii fit to get back in shape. I spent an hour on it today and that put me in a pinch for time. Monday’s I clean and I’m off to a very slow/late start. The first Monday of the month means extra detailed cleaning that I don’t do the rest of the month - I’m glad I did a lot of cleaning on Saturday while putting away Christmas decorations! LOL

I have to share a couple of wonderful photos submitted; I’ve been slack in that dept. Here’s the first:

Rose Seeded Lace Pillow Jewel writes: “The cushion is your seeded lace pillow. I have added the flower fairy to it and wanted to share. I am really enjoying making these cushions and adding doilies to them. I used fabric fusion to add the thread work to the yarn work and am pleased with the results.”

And another!

Kristen writes: “I purchased your Pineapple Cascade Angel pattern last month, and I wanted to share with you how much I enjoyed stitching it! My family loves it. I will definitely treasure this angel. Thanks for writing such a great, easy to follow pattern.”

If I should get finished early enough today with housework, I hope to work on the vintage doily. If not, it’ll be my evening indulgence. I’m anxious to start another doily design simply because I love doilies. Add texture, special stitches, vibrant colors and it takes on a life of its own. But first, I must commit and finish designs I’ve already started and planned for the January 15th newsletter.

After having the pork last night - a keeper recipe - I’m going to use the leftovers and make barbecued pork sandwiches tonight with coleslaw. Don’t you just love coleslaw mix? Sometimes I add just a tiny bit of minced onion to bring out the flavors and then make up a dressing by eyeballing things. It probably never tastes the exact same twice but as long as it tastes good, I don’t care!
