As Independence Day draws close we tend to think of celebrations, cook outs, and fireworks! Crochet-a-longs are always fun and with the 4th of July looming on the horizon, I designed a doily I hope you like. For me, the design reminds me of something radiating outward – and freedom comes to mind. A commodity we all strive for in one form or another…
These beautiful pineapple fingerless gloves are accented with crochet flowers embellished with a pearl center. A woven satin ribbon through the lacy band completes the gloves for the perfect bridal accessory.

California’s central coast is probably some of the prettiest parts of California you’ll ever see. It lies northwest of Los Angeles County and south of San Francisco and San Mateo counties. Six counties make up the Central Coast: from south-to north, Ventura, Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, Monterey, San Benito, and Santa Cruz. But sometimes the best places are the little tourist towns such as Solvang, Cambria, Carmel by the Sea and more!
This week focuses on my pick for the Top Five Friday Finds in crochet teapot cozies! As with teacups, I think tea parties, Mother’s Day, and spring; celebrations to serve tea. And with these beautiful cozies, they not only keep you tea hot, but serve as an accompaniment to your lovely table setting! Don’t take my word, check them out for yourself!
I enjoy mysteries and the more forensic talk, the better. As much as I find it interesting and riveting, my weak tummy would prevent me from ever pursuing a career in forensics. So the next best thing is to read and enjoy the science and of course, the “whodunit!”
Teacups are fun and even more fun with they can be used for something other than sipping tea. Our mending kit include the teacup holder for small supplies, a pincushion lemon wedge and a teabag mending kit!
This week focuses on my pick for the Top Five Friday Finds in crochet teacups! Tea parties, Mother’s Day, spring, all are perfect celebrations to have over tea, or in this case, crochet teacups. From sculpted thread designs to a spirit doll – you’ve got to check these out!
Salads can be varied and delicious. I grew up with iceberg lettuce where you added the same old, same old. Tomatoes, radishes, celery, green onions, etc. And if you were having company you “even” made your own ranch dressing, otherwise, it’s the bottled variety. And that was before they had fancy dressings available on your store shelf.
If you can’t have the real thing – then our cute tea service fridgie set is the perfect choice. Instead of setting the table, decorate the fridge with 5 dainty pieces to include teacup and saucer, creamer and sugar bowl, and the teapot!
This week focuses on my pick for the Top Five Friday Finds in crochet mermaids! Mermaids have always been captivating and mysterious so it’s only natural artists want to depict these creatures in various forms, including crochet! From blanket cozies to wearable hats, these mermaids make a statement!
I felt like naming this doily “surprise by design” because what you see now is as far as I’ve gotten for part 1 of this CAL. Sometimes surprises are so much fun and who knows where this mandala doily will end (or where!)… but that’s half the fun isn’t it! Come join me while we crochet together for a pretty Mother’s Day gift for someone special! Week 3 instructions are now posted!
