Crinoline girl doilies are so much fun to crochet. Why it’s almost like adult doll dress up – right? It’s so much fun to crochet the skirts and embellish these beauties to our heart’s content. But then what do you do with them…
I love how some of the crinolines in the photo above were displayed by customers!
In the upper left our Rose Garden Crinoline Girl Doily is framed on a solid background and embellished with a floral arch and at the top left corner of the frame, a crochet tree limb comes into view with a bird perched on the top. Delightful idea. Photo submitted by Janet.
- Framed Again:
In the upper right is Ariella Mermaid Doily framed with a sea-themed background to appropriately display her to perfection! Photo submitted by Laura.
- And Framed Again:
In the bottom left is the Valentine Crinoline Girl Doily framed on a pretty checkered background. The addition of an umbrella is held in the crinoline’s right hand and a flower in her left. Photo submitted by Janet.
On the bottom right is Miss Belle Crinoline Girl Doily appliqued to a piece of matching fabric and then lace is sewn to the edge. One could go a step further and place this within an embroidery hoop. Photo submitted by Ursula.
- And Framed Yet Again:
At the top left of the photo above, three crinoline are framed together. This would be so lovely in a girl’s bedroom or a bed and breakfast! Photo submitted by Sophia.
The top center photo is our Easter Crinoline Girl Doily embellished with a rainbow – how much fun is that! One could display her in a window using suction cups for a pretty Easter display! Photo submitted by Diane.
At the top right is the Crinoline Patriotic Doily displayed on a wreath – what a great way to greet visitors for the various holidays using the appropriate crinolines for each! Photo submitted by Christine.
At the bottom left, the Morning Glory Crinoline Girl Doily is paired (or mated) with Mr. Peabody (still located on our old site). I love how this couple matches so elegantly. Photo submitted by Twyla.
- Appliqued Again:
The Crinoline Patriotic Doily is appliqued to a pillow case but could just as easily be appliqued onto towels or tablecloths! Photo submitted by Judi.
- Other ways to display these crinolines include:
- On the back of a sofa
- Appliqued onto quilt squares for a quilt or pillow
- On pillows to decorate for holidays
- Sewn onto a valance to match a quilted bedspread
- Attached to craft rings for sun catchers
I would love to hear how you would display them – we love ideas!
