Crochet-A-Long Hearts Doily

This pretty Valentine doily was designed years back. Recently a visitor posted a picture of her doily in a group I belong to on FB – it’s called Threadies – be sure to look it up if you LOVE working with thread! It’s headed up by none other than our Elizabeth Ann White! A perfect doily for Valentines, Mother’s Day or just because!

  10. I am working on this and having a little trouble with changing from rnd 7 to 8. Not sure where I am going wrong. Are you to ch 9, then do the ch 3 & dtrc? Does in join to the first heart or the end if the last?

    • Needing some down time on this Sunday afternoon, and not having pulled up the pattern to check to see exactly where you’re at, I would say the last ch 3 and dtrc will create your very last space on the rnd. I do this when you need to have your work positioned to start the next rnd. I believe I changed the instructions so the ch 9 is probably at the first of the pattern repeat and not the end but I’m not positive if it’s one I caught when editing or not. Do not chain the 9 and work the ch 3 and dtrc. Join in the first st of that rnd.

      • I am also having some trouble finishing round seven. When I cain 3 and then the dtrc..where do i join that?

        • Hi Yolanda, when you started rnd 7 it states: Ch 2, dc dec over next 2 dc (counts as a beg dc dec over 3 sts) see special sts,
Then when you end it, you ch 3, dtrc in top of first dec forming last sp on rnd

So you work that dtrc in the first dec that you created at the beginning of the round as stated in the instructions. :-)

  11. Such a pretty doily. A pic of this doily, done in red by a member of the group, was the pic I chose to put up this month for my crochet group. Certainly says Valentine’s to me. :)

          • Smaller groups are often the best – its like sitting around your kitchen table crocheting with friends over coffee and small chit chat. BTW, love the doily and sent a reply. Thank you for sharing a picture of it. It’s beautiful!

          • Love the group and that is exactly how we feel about it. I received your email and replied. She did a
beautiful job of it. I just wanted you to see it in red and you’re welcome.

  12. Brenda writes: “I started this pattern last year around the same time (Feb. 4th 2015) started this one Feb. 5th 2016 finished today. Did the edge a bit different. Now to find the one I started last year.”
