Take this, add that, and that – embellish and viola – you have a beautiful winter wreath to grace your front door or entry!
Create a Beautiful Winter Wreath
Start with a grapevine wreath, I chose a heart shaped one because, well, Valentine’s is right around the corner, but you can choose a round wreath and even a different type of wreath if you like. There are so many lovely wreath bases to choose from that include Styrofoam to straw! Add moss to your base on all exposed sides. Be generous!
Now it’s time for the fun part, adding beautiful flowers from your local BloomNation Store. If you haven’t heard of BloomNation before, they are an flower delivery service that supports local florists through its online marketplace. I chose Hydrangeas for their winter snow color, but leave some of the green leaves to help dress your wreath. Group two to three hydrangeas on one side of your wreath then add the white roses around the rest of the wreath allowing space for thread crochet snowflakes and ribbon to “fill-in.” Use floral tubes if possible to preserve the life of your flowers – this will keep them looking fresh longer!
Any of the snowflakes you see above will work beautifully and best of all, they’re all free patterns, right here on this blog. Below you will find direct links to all shown. Be sure to work all in size 10 thread so they snuggle into their new home on the wreath! Lastly, add your ice-blue “wintery” ribbon by tucking in and and around the foliage and snowflakes. And finally add a big bow under the hydrangea cluster.
