You can lock your house and secure it, but really, if a thief wants in, they’ll find a way; so why lock up?
Reason stands that by locking the house and securing it as much as feasibly possible, will make it more difficult for thieves to break in. And positioning yourself to better protect your family place the odds in your favor.
I think this is exactly what Trump is trying to do by building a wall. It’s not to keep a specific culture or ethnicity out – we still do have an immigration system where people can become citizens of our country legally. Its built to slow down the onslaught of drugs, cartel, and most importantly, Isis/terrorists.
Will it keep us safe – well safer than without a wall, but it won’t stop the threats and problems we face in our country entirely, just like locking your doors at night won’t stop a determined thief.
And just like many people who invest in security alarms backed by police monitoring, implementing a system of vetting and manning our borders is another measure to help keep us safe. Safer against those who bring in drugs. And aren’t we all in agreement we have a serious drug problem in America? And it will help to slow the cartel and terrorists from entering our country.
Terrorists have become a way of life whether you like it or not. We need – must do something! Arguing and deflecting that its to keep out certain peoples and/or religions is incorrect, and it won’t keep you safe.
The next time you’re at a concert, a nightclub, a theme park, a baseball game, or big event, I doubt open borders and a lack of a vetting system will keep you or your family safe. If you believe it will, then you might as well toss the key to your front door and just leave it unlocked.
