I love the mornings especially when the sun’s rays spill through the shutters in our family room and flood the kitchen with sunlight. It reminds me of the song, Here Comes the Sun; and I feel the excitement of the birth of a new day.
But what if I changed the spelling. Here Comes the Son. Excitement floods my heart over the birth of a new day asking God’s forgiveness for past sins, starting the day fresh, anew!
The hardest part is to be still before the Lord. Dishes are left from last night’s supper, laundry is piled, floors need to be cleaned and bathrooms wiped down. Everyday chores fill my mind and bog me down in the mire of the ordinary day humdrum. So I open the side window to hear the song of the birds and look for the hummingbirds that frequent our yard and often make it their home.
Thank you Lord for all the blessings from the flight of the butterflies as they make their way north and pass through our backyard delighting me with their beauty, the hummingbirds that light on blossoms that have burst forth after the last rains, and for the sun shining so brightly and bringing its warmth. Thank you Father for your Son making ALL things possible.
