The Crochet Corner Newsletter
Dear Friends,
Spring has sprung and the trees are budding, plants are flowering and "what do I get for mom this year" question is on! Why not make up one of our crinoline girl doilies, or a beautiful doily, fan, hat, or basket? Pairing projects also works quite well too. Work op our new basket and fill with a novel, crocheted bookmark, a teacup and tea bags. Or fill with bath salts, a crocheted sachet, facecloth, and scrubby.
Our newest patterns are located on the left menu bar with featured patterns below for spring and Mother's Day! In this issue of the Crochet Corner Loretta has designed a simply elegant and dainty doily that's sure to please mom, while my pattern, Butterfly Coasters, will not only bring the flare of spring indoors, but are functional too. Check out the spring crafts and recipes for some ideas to help you and your families celebrate Mother's Day and let our customer photos fill you with inspiration for your next crochet project!

Where did the time go? It seemed I no sooner published last month's newsletter and then it was April 1st. And no April Fool's, but the last part of March and first part of April found me down with the flu - such bad timing, but seriously - is there ever a good time to be down sick?
I have to admit, my new basket design was a spin off from a beautiful basket my pattern tester and best friend, Vicki Mashburn made for me. I've always loved baskets and they're so versatile but when you combine crochet and baskets, you have a winning combination. After adding rolled, delicate finger towels to my basket to set on the sink, I thought, wow - I should design a yarn basket. So I set to work and slowly my thoughts and efforts evolved in conclusion of our Country Padded Lace Bath Basket. A sturdy front post stitch is contrasted with a delicate thread lace edging. The model will go to my mom as part of her Mother's Day gift filled with gardening fun!
Now, speaking of Mother's Day, our new May birthday crinoline was another designed inspired by Vicki - after all, May is her birthday month! We both hope you enjoy her. :-)

Loretta's Tranquility Doily Pattern
This petite and pretty doily is quick to work up and a pleasure to stitch. Hence it's name, relax and stitch up this doily while watching favorite TV shows or sitting on the porch swing. At just 91/2 inches in dia, this doily would be so pretty as a backdrop to a memory shadow box for mom this Mother's Day or molded into a basket for potpourri. Use your imagination to create a one-of-a-kind gift for your mom or someone special this Mother's Day!

Heirloom Sampler Table Topper
Only $2.60
"I wanted to let you know I finished the table topper and gave it to my mom for Christmas. She absolutely loved it. I used Patons Grace yarn to make it big enough to fit on her dining table.
"My mom totally appreciated all the effort I put into it. She blessed "the hands that worked so hard to make such a precious gift". She asked that when she passed, I would take it back and pass it on to my daughter so that it would continue to be a treasured family heirloom. She really made me feel special. And thank you. I am so glad I came across your patterns. And of course it turned out beautifully, it was your design! You are so very incredibly talented! Although, I do have to admit I will not tackle such an intricate design again until my 3-year-old son is in school all day in a couple of years!"
