Dear Friends,
Christmas is all around us wherever we go. Running errands the other day, I had to stop by Wal-mart for supplies and was confronted by all the holiday glimmer and glamour. I can see why some people are easily depressed throughout the holiday season. It's a season that shouts "happiness" and it can be found with any number of products you want to buy.... Have you ever noticed the commercials on TV - if you buy whatever they're selling it'll make you happy? It'll make your life easier, better, and wonderful. That's the power of advertising.
And yes, The Crochet Corner is a means for me to advertise my newest patterns, but I want it to be more than that. I want the newsletter to be a source of inspiration, ideas, and fun! I've endeavored towards that goal and hope for all subscribers, you've enjoyed past issues. As this year nears its end, I'd like to go over my goals for Crochet Memories.
My aim has always been to provide quality, error-free patterns at affordable prices. Crochet Memories was founded because many types of patterns sold here were/are not what larger publishers want. They want patterns that appeal to a wider range of customers. But it was that brick wall I ran into that convinced me to open Crochet Memories. My goal is to continue designing quality patterns with the amenities you've come to expect. Amenities that is often lost in the business world because of time, money, and space.
Have a great crochet day!
New Patterns
Our newest patterns are featured to the left! They include:
Ye Old Christmas Tissue Cover:
I don't know why it hadn't occurred to me to design tissue covers to match the Christmas stockings but now that it has, I'm on a roll! My favorite stitches are spider web, pineapple, and pinwheel. While I think the pineapple to be the prettiest, I still love the affect spider webs have. I hope you like this cover as much as I do!
Frosty Snowman Runner:
In browsing through the Terry's Village catalog I came upon a snowman runner made in fabric. The entire set to include valances, chair back covers and more were as cute as "bug's ear," but I wasn't crazy about the actual fabric used in this set. Then I thought - why not a crochet runner. Once again, one idea led to the next resulting using an embroidery stitch to join the snowmen to the runner itself. I really had fun with this project coming up with ideas for enhancing it.
Ice Crystals Decorative Fan:
I actually started another crinoline doily but just needed more time to perfect this pattern. I want it to closely mirror what I see in my mind's eye - and hope the wait is worth it! The Ice Crystals Decorative Fan is another take off of the ice crystals-frost-like design I love so much! And there is no better time than Christmas for such a "cool" design. Trimmed with crocheted poinsettias and beautiful ribbon; I hope you like this piece as much as I do. Start your set today and work up the Ice Crystals Decorative Hat too!
