African Violet Ruffled Doily
The beautiful crochet vintage doily is from Star Book No. 64, Flower Doilies. It boasts beautiful fluffly cloud-like ruffles accented with crochet flowers - african violets to be specific. This charming centerpiece can be elegantly displayed on a table for a beautiful and dramatic showcase and is perfect for Mother's Day, Easter, and throughout the spring season! To complete this piece you'll need a stiffening solution that will help keep the ruffles from sagging such as liquid or powder starch, or cornstarch solution. Recipe is available on the site under "about crochet." You'll also need party hats to help shape the ruffle (its so easy this way I wished I'd thought of it sooner!). This doily can be worked as a flat doily by omitting the ruffle, worked in smaller thread sizes for a lovely cloud vision that's sure to please!
