Bridal Shell Flower Basket

This beautiful crochet flower basket is perfect for the flower girls to carry rose petals or matching flower bouquets! Trimmed with silk flowers and beads, it's a lovely basket for any occasion. This project is sculpted using either a commercial stiffener or a home made solution. For shaping you'll need 1 (12”) Styrofoam cone cut to 4 ¼” T from bottom of cone (for basket base), 1 (4” dia) Styrofoam ball or 1-lb empty coffee can (to shape the handle). To complete this project you'll need, silk floral with pearls and ribbon

Sherrie writes: "I got the flower girl basket done and wanted to send you a picture. My daughter-in-law saw this pattern on your site and asked me if I would make it for her wedding in Sept. What a wonderful pattern. It was very easy and the results were great. I am already thinking of making one in a bright color and filling it with candy for an aunt's birthday. You could also make them in baby colors and add a crochet bibs or booties for a last minute gift. There are so many possibilities!"

With all the summer weddings ahead this is a wonderful and easy pattern to make for any bride. I always make one for the flower girl and then a extra one for the bride. At my son's wedding they used the extra one for mints next to the guest book. This way the couple has a basket as a keepsake of the big day. The bride places this basket on the bridal table with a battery operated cander in it."
