Flight of the Butterflies Doily

Twelve dainty butterflies encircle a petite crochet doily featuring six small hearts. As if captured in flight, each butterfly lifts its wings in flight creating a slightly ruffled doily that's sure to capture the essence of spring. Butterflies can also be worked in solid colors, or each butterfly in a different pastel.

Medium: #10 cotton thread

Sherrie writes: "I have just finished making a suncatcher using your Butterflies in Flight doily pattern. It really worked well for this project. I made a few small changes to the pattern so it would fit the ring I already had on hand. I added one extra round of netting and only added ten butterflies instead of twelve. I outlined both the hearts and center to make it look like a flower. I plan to give this as a small Christmas gift. I think it would look pretty in a family room window or maybe even in the kitchen.
