Diamond Windows Hat

This lovely hat is crocheted with intricate diamond shaped windows worked in lacy and pretty spider web stitches. More diamonds form the scalloped edge, creating a lacy effect. Trim in ribbon, lace and silk flowers. Decorative hats are ideally suited for tossing on a bed, chair, chaise, or hat stand. This project is sculpted using either a commercial stiffener or a home made solution and 1 (5”) Styrofoam ball; cut in half. To embellish you'll need silk flowers of varying sizes, polyester roses, dried baby's breath, ½-yd flat lace, ½-yd ruffled lace, and ½-yd ribbon.
