Filet crochet is one of those versatile crochet stitch styles that can be adapted to most anything. It lends itself beautifullly to runners and doilies in particular - and it creates a beautiful piece worthy of applause.
Filet is like a mosaic painting. Basically its a background of filet mesh that's filled in to create pictures and/or words! Filet, like mosaic, is an art form. In working filet, one needs to remember to read the chart from left to right, then right to left or you could end up with an abstract!
