Victorian Birdcage
This crochet birdcage is home to a flocked bird perched on a crocheted swing. Adorned with scrolls and pearls this cage is intricate and sits on a three footed ornate pedestal. Small flowers cascade from the dome and spill over the side. This project can be sculpted using either a commercial stiffener or a home made solution. To sculpt this piece you'll need; 2 6-oz cans tomato paste (or comparable size), 1 8-oz can tomato sauce (or comparable size), 2 empty cardboard tissue rolls, 1 ½” Styrofoam ball, cut in half, scroll and swing template - included with instructions, a small amout of polyester fiber filling, and 1/4" thick cardboard. To complete this piece you'll need a small plastic or flocked bird, small runner of flowers, and crafter's string pearls.
